Ingredients:
- 1 pre-made pizza crust (or you can make your own if you have time)
- 1/2 cup pizza sauce (your favorite brand)
- 1 cup cooked ground beef, seasoned (you can use leftover taco meat or simply brown ground beef with salt, pepper, and garlic powder)
- 1 cup cooked chicken, shredded or diced (rotisserie chicken works great here!)
- 1/2 red onion, thinly sliced
- 1/2 bell pepper (any color), thinly sliced
- 1/2 cup mushrooms, sliced (optional)
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese (for extra cheesiness!)
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- Optional: a sprinkle of dried oregano or Italian seasoning
Instructions:
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to the temperature recommended on your pizza crust packaging, usually around 400-425°F (200-220°C).
- Prepare Crust: Place your pizza crust on a pizza pan or baking sheet.
- Spread Sauce: Evenly spread the pizza sauce over the crust, leaving a small border for the crust.
- Layer Cheese (1st Layer): Sprinkle about half of the mozzarella and cheddar cheese over the sauce. This helps to “glue” the toppings in place and adds extra cheesiness throughout.
- Add Meats: Distribute the seasoned ground beef and shredded chicken evenly over the cheese.
- Add Veggies: Scatter the sliced red onion, bell pepper, and mushrooms (if using) over the meat.
- Layer More Cheese: Top with the remaining mozzarella and cheddar cheese. Finish with a sprinkle of Parmesan cheese and dried oregano/Italian seasoning if desired.
- Bake: Bake for 12-18 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Cool and Serve: Let the pizza cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving. This helps the cheese set and prevents everything from sliding off.
